Según Simeón, todos sus nietos son príncipes, incluido el hijo de su única hija. En el sitio web oficial de Simeón en múltiples ocasiones se refieren al niño como príncipe.
Según las leyes búlgaras, ni Simeón ni ningún miembro de su familia ostentan títulos reales, por lo que sus nietos por línea masculina tampoco serían "príncipes" legales, no sólo el niño de Kalina.
